Unveils Focus Exhaust System Magnex Unveils Focus Exhaust System Britih exhaust-products manufacturer Magnex has unveiled a new stainless steel system for the Ford Focus 1.8-litre 16-valve Zetec. Engineered from stainless steel to fit onto the original catalytic converter, the exhaust,priced at £295 plus VAT, features a twin three-inch round trim. It also features increased power throughout the entire revs range, including an extra three to four brake horse power at the top end. (9/99) Autoglym Launches Trade Products Autoglym has unveiled two new trade products: Silicone-Free Spray and Plastic Refinisher. Silicone-Free Spray is for cleaning and dressing vinyl, plastic, rubber, leather, and other materials. As the name implies, it contains no silicones and may therefore be applied safely in body shops and other working environments where silicones might interfere with vehicle paintwork. Autoglym has been working on the silicone-free formulation for more than a year. Part of the companys aerosol range, it is available in a 450ml can at £2.79 excluding VAT. Plastic Refinisher has been developed to give a weather-resistant, long-term shine to bumpers and other plastic, and is ideal for garages with vehicles on outside display. The company says that its products vegetable-derived oils and advanced drying agents will ensure a sheen that will last for months, making daily, or even weekly cleaning unnecessary. It comes in a one-litre container at £6 plus VAT. (9/99) Hella Launches CD-ROM Catalogue Hella has launched a CD-ROM-based catalogue of its filters. The electronic catalogue provides all the latest information of its CHAMP and Luber Finer filters for cars and commercial vehicles, including over 300 new part numbers and a complete cross-reference system to manufacturers and other filter suppliers. It includes photos, line drawings, and gives details of all applications for particular part numbers. "The electronic format will make it easier and faster to find out all the information you need on filters," said Paul Baker, manager of Hellas Hard Parts division. "It clearly identifies the uses for each filter and a dimensional listing section allowing customers to identify a filter type purely by knowing its dimensions." (9/99) Würth Introduces Powerful New Fuel Clamp Workshop consumables supplier Würth UK Ltd. has introduced a powerful new design of fuel hose clamp. The Zebra Fuel Hose Power Clamp has a tightening torque of 3.5Nm. With a short body saddle, without rivets or welds, the inner surface of the Zebra Power Clamp is flush fitting enabling uniform contact pressure over the whole circumference. Additionally, the smooth inner surface prevents damage to the hose. It also features a specially shaped counter support to deflect the end of the strip away from screw head during tightening, as well as preventing sideways deflection of socket spanners. Application areas for the clamp include fuel pump, fuel distributor, fuel filter, fuel tank, surge tank, and radiator connections. (9/99) |
