High Performance Dust Masks Launched by Würth
Würth Disposable Dust Masks feature an electro-statically charged, multi-layered filter, which is non allergic and allows audible speech without difficulty. Adjustable head straps and nose clip ensure a secure fit and reliable seal, while the ergonomic shape provides maximum comfort. The mask is small enough to fit into an overall pocket when not in use, reducing risk of contamination. The masks are individually wrapped and supplied flat packed in a dispenser box to provide a further safeguard against contamination while in storage. A Würthweld version incorporating an exhalation valve is also available to guard against welding fumes. A charcoal filter in this mask also provides protection from ozone and nuisance odours. Halfords Help Boost Used Car Value Halfords are promoting a range of products that they claim could add value to the cost of a used car for those planning to sell in order to buy a new X-registration one in September. The Stone Chip and Scratch Repair System is a kit that provides all you need to get rid of marks from stones on the from of the bonnet and wings. It can also be used for other small marks such as scratches from keys on the doors and boot. Each kit contains: an abrasive to clean off any rust, a buffing pad, primer, paint and a lacquer for metallic paint, where appropriate. Halfords also offer a range of 340 exact match paint colours and there is a special order service to get hold of the least popular ones. Also of interest to those selling used cars are Halfords range of car specific cleaning products such as Wheel Cleaner, Hi-Foam Tar Shifter and Wet Look Tyre Dressing. New Range of Torches From Ring Following the launch of last autumn's Endurance Essentials range, lighting specialist, Ring Automotive, is introducing a new range of torches and lanterns. The range includes two new rubber torches with 100% rubber bodies and protected push buttons making them resistant to corrosion and the weather. A stepped reflector enhances light output while the Krypton bulb is 70% brighter than a conventional one. The torches are available as 2 x AA cell or 2 x D cell options (batteries are included). A new heavy duty Rubber Lantern offers oil and weather resistance. Ring's new Emergency Lantern will turn on automatically if the power is cut off during charging. The Multi-Function Lantern includes a standard spotlight torch beam, fluorescent option and red and amber lamps which can bee used in a variety of combinations.
Ring has designed an easily assembled display unit for its new range of Cool Fluorescent Torches. The torches come in small, medium and large versions and in transparent red, green and blue. The 2 in 1 Emergency Light and Torch fits in a glovebox and features a flashing red LED emergency light as well as a power torch beam. The CE marked version has three extendable legs, complete with suction cups, to hold the light firmly in place on any flat surface. The cordless Power Spotlight has a multi-position handle, enabling it to be carried as a spotlight or lantern. It features a built-in battery tester, uses a rechargeable lead acid battery and comes complete with home and car charger as well as a 25w halogen bulb. Other new spotlights include the compact 12v pivoting spotlight and the Megabeam 750 Super Power Spotlight which comes with a powerful 35v bulb. Tenneco Introduces New Products at Automechanika As well as its current products, Tenneco will be demonstrating two new devices to customers at the Automechanicka show: the Walker Endoscope and the Monroe Magic Camber. The new Walker Endoscope allows mechanics to detect damage inside an exhaust system without having to dismantle it and before it becomes obvious from the outside. A miniature fibre optic camera on the end of a flexible cable is inserted through the rear silencer. Pictures are relayed from the camera to a TV monitor, giving a clear view of inner corrosion, condensation build-up and emerging holes as well as damage to the catalytic converter. Altering a car's wheel camber causes uneven tyre wear and is difficult to rectify as many cars cannot be mechanically readjusted. Monroe's new Magic Camber can solve this problem on any vehicle whose shock absorbers are held in place at the bottom by two bolts. The new system comprises a set of two special bolts which, according to Tenneco, are fast, easy and safe to install. The mechanic simply replaces the upper bolt which is currently holding the lower end of the shock absorber in place with the Magic Camber bolt, which allows the camber to be adjusted by three degrees in either direction In addition, visitors to Tenneco's stand can find out more about the restructured Monroe standard product line. The Gas-Matic and Radial-Matic shock absorber ranges have been merged to create the new standard product line, Monroe Original, so named to emphasise that these have similar qualities and characteristics to OE parts. Hydraulic shocks are now also labelled Monroe Original, while gas-charged shocks are renamed Monroe Original Gas Technology. Premium shocks and Monroe Sensa-Trac with the new Safe-Tech system, retain their current name. New 'Quicksilver' Lotus Esprit Exhaust London Stainless Steel have just developed a new 'Quicksilver Sports' system for the Lotus Esprit V8 Turbo. The new exhaust's main advantage is that the 1.8kg Quicksilver Sports pipes replace the large OE silencer assembly and remove 19.2kg from the very rear of the car. In addition the system offers a louder and deeper exhaust note. The pipes are a direct replacement and can be fitted in 45 minutes. They come with a 25 year corrosion guarantee.
Particularly suited to the removal of graffiti from garage forecourts and municipal bus fleets, this new silicone-free chemical formula is available as a range of three products for interior, exterior and special applications. A low moisture formula branded Graffiti-Ex Special has also been developed by Würth chemists to remove ink, stains and chewing gum from upholstery. Ring Extends Rally Car Mat Range The success of Ring Automotive's range of universal Rally car mats has led to the launch of four new designs. The Guard range offers mats for all situations, from heavy-duty, all-weather mats to quality rubber and carpet combinations.
Rearguard is a single one-piece mat designed to fit across the middle console between the rear footwells and is ideal for larger vehicles such as 4x4s and MPVs. This mat is also available in black or grey rubber with a non-slip backing and can be trimmed for the best fit. Also for 4x4s and MPVs, Ring have designed the 4x4 Guard front mat. Made from rubber and carpet, the mats are sold in pairs with non slip backing and come in black or grey. The range is completed by Dura Guard Deluxe which is a heavy duty version of Dura Guard. New Heavy Duty Seat Covers From Halfords A new range of heavy duty seat protectors has been introduced into Halford's high street branches and superstores which the retailers claim will protect against all substances from water, dirt, oil and paint to dog hairs. The protective seat covers are water resistant and are made from thick durable nylon fabric which is washable. They are packaged as a front pair or a full rear seat cover and can be easily fitted and removed in seconds. The seat covers are available in navy blue or dark green. They are a universal size with an elasticated surround and so are suitable for most vehicles. |

Ring
offer several hands-free options such as the dual Worklights which
are fitted to a special spectacle-type frame. The Headlight is attached
with an adjustable head strap and is also available in a rechargeable
version and a multi-purpose design which can be clipped to a hat,
belt or watch strap.
A
new range of products from Würth claims to easily remove marker
pen, ink and spray paints. Graffiti-Ex is sprayed on, allowed a short
time to react and then the resultant residue is wiped off with a damp
cloth.
The
new Cargoguard is a heavy-duty rubber mat designed for car boot protection.
Available in black or grey, with a non-slip backing to eliminate movement,
the mat's universal design is suitable for most vehicles but can also
be trimmed for optimum fit.
