Varta Provides Solution to Flat Battery Trouble Varta claim that the flat battery may be a thing of the past with the arrival of its new PowerCheck condition monitor.
A green display means that the battery is at maximum charge and will always provide reliable starting. If the charge state is poor, a dark grey colour seen through the window will indicate that the battery should be recharged. As soon as this is done the charge indicator will turn back to green. A transparent window means that the battery is almost drained and is likely to fail soon. An immediate replacement is then recommended. Varta's longer lasting Silver Dynamic starter battery will be available with the PowerCheck indicator incorporated from early next year in the UK. Autodata Publishes Service Guide 2000 The new Service Guide 2000 from Autodata enables the independent garage and service specialist to carry out work in compliance with manufacturers' schedules on petrol and diesel cars, MPVs, 4x4s and LCVs from 1989 to 2000. New in this edition are revised manufacturers' service schedules and times from Citroen, Mercedes, Peugeot, Renault, Volvo and VW-Audi. Also included for the first time are illustrations showing gearbox and axle drain as well as refill plug locations, plus comprehensive vehicle jacking point information. Extended data is included on pollen filter locations, re-setting information for service interval indicators and lubricant grades and capacities. Halfords Offer Car Cleaning Packs as Gift Idea
The new packs include the top-of-the-range, Ultimate Valet, which has a wide range of products such as Car Polish and Sealant, Interior and exterior Trim Spray, Upholstery Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, Wheel Cleaner and four valeting cloths. Smaller versions of the pack are available: the Superior Valet Pack offers five products and cloths, while the Express Valet Pack has three essential cleaning items and cloths. Halfords Wash Bags are available in standard and large sizes. The standard pack provides a sponge, chamois leather and 500ml Halfords Advanced Car Wash all in a reusable bag. The large pack offers larger size products and an additional Traffic Film Remover, which removes oil, diesel and insects. Magnex Announces New Additions To Exhaust Range New Magnex performance exhaust systems are available for the VW Bora, VW Corrado G60, Alfa Romeo 156 and Renault Clio. Owners of 2.0-litre Sport and 2.3-litre V5 Bora saloons can now fit a new Magnex cat back system or performance rear box - finished with either a twin 3-inch round or twin DTM tailpipe trim. VW Corrado 1.8 G60 drivers can choose between a 4-inch round or a six by four inch oval trim, both of which produce an extra three brake horse power. Magnex claim that the new cat back system for the Alfa Romeo 156 2.0-litre Twin spark Selespeed offers extra power throughout the revs range and a seven bhp increase at the top end. The Alfa Romeo system comes with a choice of 3.5-inch round or six by four-inch oval tailpipe trims. Drivers can also fit the latest Magnex exhaust to this year's Renault Clio Sport for an additional five bhp at the top end of the range. This exhaust is available as a cat back system or performance rear box and comes in a choice of tailpipe trims.
A new range of absorbent paper cleaning rolls designed for use within the automotive sector has been introduced by Würth UK Ltd. Designed for mopping up spills, wiping, cleaning and degreasing, the range includes five jumbo rolls with differing widths and lengths, plus two mini centre-feed rolls ideal for placement in service receptions, work areas and toilets. The new products are made of 100% recycled, chemically pure paper and come in a choice of ply. To accommodate the new paper rolls, two new galvanised dispensers are available for wall mounting or mobile floor dispensing with an integrated bin bag holder, as well as a new lockable centre-feed dispenser with transparent smoked Perspex lid for the mini centre-feed rolls. |
