Varta's New Batteries Offer Profit Opportunity
The battery manufacturer claims that with 80% of new cars sold today requiring these special batteries to operate vital functions and an average product lifespan of two years, the replacement market is set to expand further. An initial stock package of 140 Varta key fob batteries together with a special counter display stand is available to trade customers through the company's network of UK agents. The display stand's stock covers 75% of the market. Autodata Introduces Single Source for Diesel Diagnosis and Repair The latest title in the Autodata range of diesel information - Diesel Engine Management Systems 5 - responds to the growing adoption of electronic fuel control systems on recent diesel engine vehicles. It has a completely changed content and a different title from previous editions in the range, reflecting its broader content. Ltd has developed a specially Made exclusively from plant oils approved under Germany's food safety laws, the new LMS 220 Lubricant is perfectly safe for use wherever machinery comes into contact with food processing and transport equipment, including truck tail lifts, doors hinges and runners. The product is non-toxic, silicone free and has a neutral odour and taste. Packaged in a 300ml aerosol, the lubricant reduces friction in hinges, couplings and other mechanisms by 30-40%. Operating through a temperature range from minus 20°C to plus 220°C, LMS 220 Lubricant is water insoluble and resistant to ageing. Mahle Launches Asian Filter Catalogue The Mahle Group has published a comprehensive aftermarket filter catalogue covering all Asian cars and light commercials. It is the first publication from the filter manufacturer exclusively for vehicles produced around the Pacific Rim. Available to independent distributors from Mahle Filter Systems, the group's UK subsidiary, it covers oil, air, fuel and cabin air filters. The 63 page catalogue features an easy to use OE cross reference for both Mahle and Knecht branded filters, together with a simple part number finder. Würth's New Cleaner Aids Paint and Panel Preparation A silicone remover has been launched by Würth UK to help bodyshop staff clean and degrease glass and metal panels prior to glueing or painting.
The silicone remover's chemical formula provides strong cleaning power and a long aeration time for easy application. Würth claim that, as well as offering excellent cleaning properties for synthetic materials, it is also effective for the removal of wax, tar and silicone residues. According to Würth, once the surface has been cleaned, benefits include optimum adhesion of subsequent paint layers and secure bonding of badges and mouldings. Magnex Reveals its Latest Exhaust Products Magnex has announced details of new exhaust products for Toyota, Nissan, BMW three-series, Fiat Punto and Audi A3 drivers. A new exhaust system for the Toyota MR2 (1990-1996) offers extra power to drivers, adding three bhp to the top end of its range. This system is available with a 4 inch round trim or a 6" by 4" oval trim. Magnex has also produced a Nissan Sunny system (April 1992 - February 1993) featuring a stylish four-inch round trim. BMW E36 318 IS and E46 318 IS owners can now experience added power with Magnex's stainless steel cat back systems. An extra seven bhp is available at the top end of the revs range from the E46 model (1998 onwards) and there are similar power improvements on the E36 too (April 1992-July 1999) The E46 model comes with a choice of a large 6"x 4" oval trim or twin dtms. The E36 model is available with a single 3.5 inch round or twin round tailpipe trim. Magnex have engineered an additional three bhp at the top end for Fiat Punto 1.8 HGT drivers (1999 onwards). The new exhaust systems are available with a choice of either a 3.5" round or a 6" x 4" inch oval trim. Also offering noticeable power gains, the Audi A3 cat back system is available with a 6" x 4" inch oval trim or twin round trim. |
