Castrol Provides Start-up Protection for Diesel Engines
Castrol GTD Magnatec lubricant contains polarised molecules that cling to an engine, even when cold. It also disperses soot particles preventing harmful deposits from forming and damaging the engine. Also new to Castrol's diesel range is the soot dispersing and fuel efficient Castol GTD Plus. This offers four times the viscosity control than conventional 15W-40 diesel lubricants and is specially developed to maintain fuel efficiency and performance. Formulated with hydrocarbon polymers - designed to hold in suspension soot, dirt and acid caused by the by-products of engine combustion - Castrol GTD Plus keeps oil at the correct thickness over time. home. (08/00) Magnex Offers Power Enhancing Exhaust for Calibra Magnex is introducing an array of cat back systems and rear boxes for 2.0-litre 8-valve and 16-valve Calibra Ecotec models. All come in stainless steel and, say Magnex, provide a sportier engine note and lots of extra power. Both options come with a choice of tailpipe trims; twin three-inch round or a six by four-inch oval, as well as a lifetime guarantee. For more power, Magnex has also created a cat replacement kit, although the manufacturer states that this would need to be removed for the Calibra to pass its MOT. (08/00) 600
New Items for Walker's Exhaust Catalogue 2000 Walker has introduced over 600 new items in this year's product catalogue, including replacement products for recently launched models, such as the Citroen Xsara, Peugeot 206, Seat Toledo, Landrover Freelander, Toyota Avensis, Renault Kangoo, Skoda Octavia and Volvo V40. New additions to the catalogue include 62 catalytic converters, 344 silencers and pipes, 177 existing items for new applications as well as 345 new Mini Kits and Cat Kits, which include all the parts and accessories needed to install a particular part. Armor All Spray and Wipe Car Wax is designed to be easy to use as it is simply sprayed on and wiped off. 1.6 '94 onwards. Exide Announces New Generation of Batteries A new range of automotive batteries is set to be unveiled by Exide. Exact details will not be released until early autumn when the company is due to hold a high-profile product launch. The new batteries will be the result of research and development into new processes of battery production such the STE venting system, which helps improve safety and prevent corrosion of terminals. A special new valve will be used which allows charging gases to escape while preventing the emission of corrosive acidic vapours. In addition, Exide says the use of lead calcium positive and negative plates in the battery grip over traditional dissimilar alloys produces a more reliable, longer life, maintenance-free battery. Another key feature is expected to be a state of charge indicator for ease of use. (08/00)
The latest edition of the European master catalogue listing all Mahle oil, air, fuel and cabin filters for cars and commercial vehicles available in the UK has just been published. The 2000/01 edition runs to 560 pages and lists a total of 1,200 product lines, with easy to follow reference and applications data. Among the new models featured is the completely revised Mercedez-Benz C Class range. Mahle supplies OE and replacement products for petrol and diesel versions of this car. A selection of stainless steel systems and performance rear boxes are now available for both cars which offer improved sound and appearance as well as significant power gains over the conventional factory-fit pipe work. The A3 selection comes with a choice of a twin three-inch DTM or twin square tailpipe trims.
