New Turtle Wax Paint Cleaner

Turtle Wax Safe CutTurtle Wax has produced a new silicone-free paint cleaner designed to safely restore the colour and shine to all paint finished including metallics. Safe Cut, available from distributor Polco Products, contains a polymer-enriched formula to remove dirt and high-gloss waxes to improve shine. Available in 500ml packs, Safe Cut features in Turtle Wax's new TV advertising campaign, which airs at peak times on terrestrial and satellite channels up until the autumn. Turtle Wax has also launched a scratch remover paste under the Safe Cut brand, which is supplied with a free point-of-sale dispenser and is designed to remove light scratches and swirl marks from all types of paintwork.


Easier to Dispense Cleanser and Barrier Cream from Arvin

Arvin Replacement Products (Timax) has repackaged its solvent-free citrus hand cleaning gel and water repellent barrier hand cream. In addition to brighter coloured and clearer labelling, the 5 litre tubs of both products are now available with an optional wall-bracket carrier for wall-mounting.Arvin Products The Citrus 'beaded' hand cleaning gel is a solvent free, non-abrasive hand cleanser containing surfactants, citrus oil and polyethylene beads. It has a pH value of approximately 7.0 and is packaged in 5 litre and 12.5 kg tubs or a 5 litre bottle, with a hand pump dispenser for all sizes. Arvin's water repellent universal barrier cream, designed to protect the hands and forearms against wet and dry irritants is packaged in a 5 litre tub and has an optional hand pump dispenser and/or wall bracket. The barrier cream can be used in other industries, including food, and is a blend of fats, waxes and oils in emulsion form and also has a pH of 7.0.


New 2000 Editions of Autodata Wall Charts

Autodata have now published the year 2000 edition of their series of wall charts aimed at providing technicians with essential information at a glance. The Tyre Pressures and Wheel Nut Tightening Torques chart covers cars and light commercial vehicles manufactured between 1986 and 2000 and features tyre sizes - both standard and optional, tyre pressures in psi and bar values and wheel nut tightening torques. Front Wheel Tracking Chart provides checking and set data for cars and light CVs, also for the period 1986 - 2000. The setting figures include plus and minus tolerances, measurements for which are given in both mm and degrees and test load positions are also shown. The Brake Dimensions chart covers vehicles from 1975 - 2000, providing instant reference to minimum disc thickness dimensions for front solid, front ventilated and rear discs, together with maximum drum diameter data. Tightening torques for brake callipers and road wheels are also featured. All three charts measure 740mm x 1000mm, are printed in black and yellow and encapsulated in plastic. The charts can be purchased separately or in a money saving pack, priced £48.50 + VAT for all three.


Two New Promotions From Clorox Car Care

Armor AllClorox Car Care has announced details of the first Armor All nationwide consumer promotion of the year, linked to its Protectant and Low Gloss Protectant ranges. The promotion ties in with an all-new Armor All consumer advertising campaign theme - 'It's Looking Good' - and is focused on an on-pack offer of a single-use 35mm camera and film for £3.99. The campaign offer, which is redeemed through the neck collar attached to all 300ml packs, is supported with a range of point of sale materials and will run throughout the spring. STP Sport Timer

 

Having bought the STP brand in 1999, Clorox Car Care have now launched a major new consumer promotion headed by the chance to win a VIP trip for two to the final round of the NASCAR Winston Cup 2000 Series in Georgia USA. The on-pack competition, presented as a neck collar on 250ml bottles of STP Fuel Injector Cleaner is also linked to the offer of an STP Sports Timer for a special price of £3.99 and ties in with STP's sponsorship of the USA's premier oval race series. The campaign, which will run throughout the spring season, is backed by specially-produced point-of-sale materials and is timed to coincide with an all-new consumer advertising campaign which broke this month.

BBA Friction have announced that their review of their UK Aftermarket selling prices is completed with a price increase in the range of Mintex/Gates Timing Belts with effect from 1st March 2000.


Castrol Presents Recruitment Guide

Castrol has launched a comprehensive guide to successful recruitment within the retail motor industry designed specifically to help dealers recruit successfully, Mark Ashford  Search and Selectsaving both time and money. 'Castrol Search and Select' offers a nine step guide to recruitment, containing recruitment planning formats for 23 positions. Each format contains an example job description, an ideal candidate benchmark - detailing career experience, necessary work skills and qualifications - together with suggested interview questions and a sample advertisement. An integral part of the guide is the personality profiling analysis system (PPA) designed to help dealerships gain a better insight into an individual candidate's strengths and limitations in relation to a specific job. A Castrol human resources consultant will also provide verbal feedback over the telephone within 24 hours. Continuing Trend for Gas Units is Reflected in Gabriel 2000 Catalogue

Of the 120 new parts featured in the newly published Gabriel 2000 catalogue of high-performance shock absorbers and struts for cars from Arvin Replacement Products, 70% are gas-pressurised units, illustrating the continuing popularity of gas units in European vehicle suspension design. The new catalogue retains its original reference format and contains detailed technical information such as how to measure shock absorbers, their extended and collapsed lengths, a conversion chart (inches to millimetres) and the expected time duration for replacement. Specialist Gabriel fitting tools are also illustrated at the rear of the book. Amongst the 120 new shock absorber and strut parts contained in the catalogue are applications for the Alfa Romeo 166, Audi TT, BMW 8 Series, Ford Focus and Cougar as well as the latest Opel/Vauxhall Frontera and VW Golf and Bora Models.


Bosal Release 2000 Catalogue

Bosal UK's 2000 Catalogue provides details of more than 4000 systems, including 350 new parts. All are listed alphabetically by car make, model and year of manufacture and illustrated with comprehensive graphics.
