Following the setting up of its car sales website, Vauxhall is now offering a range of accessories to buy online. Customers can now access the Vauxhall Accessory Collection website - www.vauxhall.co.uk/accessories - and for selected items, place a direct order and have goods delivered to their home. The company claims that the site contains over 2,500 pages of information, with comprehensive details of all accessories for current Vauxhall cars and vans plus leisurewear and gift ranges. X-Rite to Host Automotive Event X-Rite, the instrumentation and software provider for colour critical applications, has announced that it will be hosting an Automotive User Meeting at the National Motorcycle Museum, near the NEC, Birmingham on September 26th, 2000. The event has been organised as a platform to inform users of quality control developments and the best method of operation as well as an open forum for advice and debate for professionals working in the automotive industry. Attendees are expected from the car and paint manufacturing industries and other suppliers who develop and produce painted plastic parts. In addition to X-Rite personnel there will be a presentation from Mr Thomas Dauser from Audi, who will advise how X-Rite instruments are used at the Audi plant in Germany. ArvinMeritor Light Vehicle Aftermarket Europe has named Hayes Tubes of Stourbridge as European Supplier of the Year. According to ArvinMeritor, the award was made following Hayes' 100% on-time delivery record over the last year and for the company's achievements in driving down quality defects to the level of only 300 parts per million. Inaugurated early last year by Renault Sport, the 2000 trophy enters its sixth round next month with less than half of the original 60 entrants still in contention. Currently, Luca Rangoni of Italy holds the No.1 pole position overall. ArvinMeritor's participation in the tournament follows more than a year of technical collaboration with Renault Sport, culminating in Metal'Cat being fitted to all the Clio Trophy cars as well as the Formula Renault and Megane Coupe. Targeted at the key autumn/winter selling season, the promotion runs through until 31 January 2001.
